Dentists in the NHS Pension Scheme should be aware that the Scottish Public Pensions Agency (SPPA) has recently issued the 2025 Annual Benefit Statements. These can be viewed through the SPPA portal, called Engage.
Members who are eligible for the McCloud Remedy (age discrimination rectification) should see that these statements include details of what their remediable pension benefits would be.
We strongly recommend that you access and save these statements. If something does not look right, the SPPA should be asked to confirm your earnings and service records which have been used to generate the statement.
Members who have already drawn upon some or all of their NHS pension may not immediately be able to access a statement showing any pension benefits that are remaining, or have built up from work after retirement.
We continue to work with the SPPA to lobby for some much-needed improvements to this, the wider administration of the valuable NHS Pension Scheme and the communications sent to members.
